Bruno Bruni: Sculpture 'Owl', bronze

Product information "Bruno Bruni: Sculpture 'Owl', bronze"

The owl has symbolised wisdom since ancient times. And that is why numerous artists such as Albrecht Dürer, Hieronymus Bosch, Max Ernst and Pablo Picasso have given shape to the owl in their paintings and sculptures. We also find this nocturnal bird in Bruno Bruni's graphic work. And now Bruni has enchanted it into the third dimension. His sculpture shows us the characteristic features of the feathered hunter: the slender body, the watchful eyes in the large feather cavities and the outstretched feathers. The textured surface gives us the impression of a tangible materiality: it is as if we can feel the feathers. The patination in golden-brown bronze with shiny accents lends the owl plasticity and vibrancy. Sculpture in bronze, patinated, partially polished, cast using the lost wax technique. Limited edition of 240 pieces, numbered and signed. Height 30 cm. Width 12 cm. Depth 14 cm. Weight approx. 3.8 kg.
