Damiano Taurino: Sculpture 'Equilibrion', bronze on wood

Product information "Damiano Taurino: Sculpture 'Equilibrion', bronze on wood"

The Italian sculptor Damiano Taurino comes from the Salento peninsula - a region where Baroque art and architecture are omnipresent. This influence is still recognisable in Taurino's figures. Realistically and with great attention to detail, he models his sculptures, which are actually scenes and tell their own little stories. One of the central motifs in his work is dance. Sometimes dynamic, sometimes sensitive, he portrays dancers - as here - in balance: Taurino's graceful dancer shows what hard practice in dance and ballet ultimately achieves: supreme elegance and the impression of floating lightness.edition in bronze, cast using the lost wax technique, chiselled and patinated by hand.
