The German sculptor Kurt Arentz (1934-2014) was able to bring his very own side to the classic subject of animal sculpture. Although Arentz always emphasised the typical features of the animals, he never strived for naturalistic perfection. He left the surfaces uneven and visibly textured, giving each of his figures a very individual character - as is the case with this donkey foal, which is attentively observing its surroundings and planning new journeys of discovery. Sculpture in fine bronze, cast using the lost wax technique, chiselled, patinated and polished by hand. Limited world edition of 25 copies, numbered and signed. Size approx. 11 x 18 x 21 cm (h/w/d). Weight approx. 3.1 kg.
