Nikolay Anev was particularly passionate about interpreting the motifs of classical Greek-Thracian mythology. In this work, he dedicated himself to the legendary people of the Amazons, who, according to the Homeric Iliad, fought under their queen Penthesilea in the Trojan War. Anev shows his Amazon as a figure armoured with a helmet and breastplate, oscillating between beauty and strength, grace and untouchability. Exclusively at ars mundi: sculpture in fine bronze, cast using the lost wax technique. Hand-patinated, polished and mounted on a diabase base. Limited edition of 199 pieces, numbered and signed. Height incl. plinth 54 cm. Weight 5.5 kg.
