Ottmar Hörl: Sculpture 'Frog King', silver-plated version

Product information "Ottmar Hörl: Sculpture 'Frog King', silver-plated version"

The aesthetics of everyday culture and the standardisation and normalisation of everyday objects - these are Ottmar Hörl's major themes. Hörl became famous for erecting whole armies of sculptures of, for example, rabbits, Martin Luther and Karl Marx. For the 100th anniversary of the Mathildenhöhe artists' colony in Darmstadt, Ottmar Hörl turned the Grimm fairy tale of the Frog King into an art project and installed 800 frogs and 5 metal balls in the Art Nouveau fountain there for 100 days. Following his art projects, Hörl's plastic multiples have become sought-after collector's items. As an ars mundi exclusive edition, we have now produced a signed special edition of 980 pieces each made of either gold-plated (24 carat) or fine silver-plated cast metal. Format 13 x 11 x 14 cm (W/H/D). Weight approx. 1.95 kg. Silver-plated cast metal frog king version.
