Paul Wunderlich: Sculpture group 'Nicht Sehen - Nicht Hören - Nicht Sprechen', bronze

Product information "Paul Wunderlich: Sculpture group 'Nicht Sehen - Nicht Hören - Nicht Sprechen', bronze"

The three wise monkeys have their origins in a Japanese proverb and symbolise the exemplary handling of bad things. The original text 'See nothing (evil), hear nothing (evil), say nothing (evil)' is part of the teachings of the Buddhist god Vadjra. In the West, the old symbol was mostly interpreted as fools who perceive nothing and do not want to speak out. Wise or foolish - Wunderlich's sculptural group leaves both interpretations open in a marvellous way. Sculpture group in fine bronze, cast by hand using the lost wax technique, patinated by hand and partially polished. Limited edition of 250 pieces, numbered and signed. Catalogue raisonné no. 277. 15 x 13 x 15 cm (W/H/D) format per sculpture. Weight approx. 2.2 kg each.
