The dominant element of the Stele of Hermes is the column shaft, which makes up almost two-thirds of the sculpture. A fine line interrupts the mathematical, metallic smoothness of the shaft and winds upwards in a generous curve. This is followed by the sculpted, highly stylised torso. A bold S-shaped sweep of lines between the shoulder blade and hip dissolves the archaic statuary and fills the sculpture with life.sculpture in fine bronze, patinated, partially polished. Work number 285, cast by hand using the lost wax technique. Limited edition of 1,250 pieces, numbered and signed. Height of the sculpture 39 cm. Mounted on a rectangular bronze plinth 13 cm long. Weight 2.2 kg.
