In the 16th century, the Spanish brought bullfighting to the New World. However, the Mexicans quickly changed the rules and sent the bull to a chained grizzly in the arena. The poet Don José de la Vega transferred this image to the events at the Amsterdam Stock Exchange in 1688. Since then, the bull and the bear have been as much a part of the stock market world as the Dow Jones and Wall Street. Size bull: 30 x 20 x 11 cm (W/H/D), weight approx. 3.2 kg. Bear size: 26 x 14 x 10 cm (W/H/D), weight approx. 2.6 kg. Edition in artificial bronze. Polymer art casting, cast by hand, with bronze patina. Limited edition of 299 pieces each. Both sculptures in a set.
