The intimate kiss of a loving couple is a challenging subject, which is probably why the great sculptors have repeatedly taken on this task. Here, the sculptor SIME, who has lived and worked in Munich for many years, shows how confidently he masters the challenge: he depicts the couple's duality with anatomical precision, without completely dispensing with the abstract formal language of modernism, as SIME breaks down the rounded body shapes into planes, at least in a suggestive way - think of the slightly cubic moulding of her thigh and shoulder as well as the sharply contoured curve of his front torso and the two-dimensional execution of the cheek and eye area. The duality of the sitter thus also leads to a unity of representation in terms of design. Sculpture in bronze, cast using the lost wax technique, chiselled, polished and patinated by hand.
