Thomas Jastram: Sculpture 'Sophia' (2022), version in bronze

Product information "Thomas Jastram: Sculpture 'Sophia' (2022), version in bronze"

Thomas Jastram sees himself as a classical sculptor. His sculptural work includes life-size works - including many for public spaces such as an imposing Neptune Fountain in Warnemünde, which was erected in 2022 - portrait busts and small sculptures such as his 'Sophia'. The title of his owl sculpture refers to the wisdom that has been attributed to the night bird as the companion of Athena/Minerva since ancient times. The owl is therefore also a symbol of philosophy. Jastram shows it with its wings spread wide, ready to take off. Sculpture in fine bronze, cast using the lost wax technique, chiselled, polished and patinated by hand. Limited edition of 49 pieces, numbered, signed and stamped with the foundry and ars mundi hallmark. With numbered certificate of authenticity and limited edition.
