Guido Deleu: Sculpture 'The Visitor', version in bronze
Guido Deleu: Sculpture 'The Visitor', version in bronze
The Belgian sculptor Guido Deleu (*1932) studied for three years at the Academy of Art in Roeselare/Belgium and was also trained by his teacher Isidoor Goddeeris in the famous quarries of Carrara/Italy in the processing of marble. His work 'The Visitor' is both a work of art and a commentary on art. The 'Visitor' stands in the room with an interested gaze - in this bronze edition it can also be the garden - and observes the world that is presented to him there. In this way, he mirrors the viewer of the art and shows him the same: the interested gaze, the attentive eye, the precision of observation, which he himself demonstrates as an art object and demands of the viewer at the same moment. 'The Visitor' was commissioned for a cultural centre in Flanders, where a life-size version of the sculpture has stood since 1996. Edition in bronze, cast using the lost wax technique, patinated. Size 75 x 28 x 21 cm (H/W/D). Weight 14 kg. Suitable for outdoor use.

Günther Stimpfl: Sculpture 'Ambiguity', version in artificial marble
Günther Stimpfl: Sculpture 'Ambiguity', version in artificial marble
In many religions, the deity was presented as a dual-sexed being, and in Plato's 'Symposium', Aristophanes tells the myth of the originally two-headed dual-sexed human being. From the ancient Chinese ying-yang teachings and the experiments of the alchemists to modern depth psychology and biogenetics, the speculations about the separation and reunification of the male and female principles are all in a row. Günther Stimpfl has reduced this elementary bipolarity, the duality of existence, the mental and physical ambivalence and the fusion of two bodies to a strict, abstract formula with his idol, which thematises such interrelationships. Standing figure 'Ambiguity': Limited world edition, 458 copies in total. Numbered and signed. Height 110 cm. Standing area 32 x 13 cm. Weight approx. 15 kg. Edition in white, polymer-bound artificial marble. Limited edition of 199 pieces. Partly silver-plated.

Günther Stimpfl: Sculpture 'Doppelkopf', version in artificial marble
Günther Stimpfl: Sculpture 'Doppelkopf', version in artificial marble
Born in Eben, Austria in 1945, the artist, who has travelled from New York to South America and Asia, restored the large outdoor sculptures at the Belvedere and Schönbrunn palaces in Vienna before becoming a freelance sculptor. Through his exhibitions of sculptures, etchings, pastels and drawings in Hamburg, Frankfurt, Munich, Bologna, Milan, Paris, Geneva and Vienna, he has found many friends of his work throughout Europe. His 'double-headed' sculpture, whose smooth, rounded surface tempts the viewer to touch it, is reminiscent of the Roman god Janus, who was originally regarded as the guardian of the door. This is why he is depicted with a double face, looking inwards and outwards. He became the god of beginnings and endings. The first month of the year, January, is named after him. Total height 29 cm; length 15 cm, width 13 cm. Limited, numbered and signed. Edition in white, polymer-bound artificial marble. Edition of 300 copies.
